The Performers Support Fund of South Australia provides a safety net for actors and entertainment professionals both past and present and of all ages, giving critical financial help at their greatest time of need
Administered by a Management Committee of volunteers primarily from the entertainment industry, we aim to assist all performing artists and technicians residing in South Australia and the Northern Territory when they are at their most vulnerable.
Help is offered in various ways – financial, practical and advisory. But most importantly we work with all applicants to provide what they require in their time of need.
A bond of confidentiality exists within the Fund. The identities of recipients are never disclosed.
A small subcommittee manages all applications to ensure the highest level of anonymity possible for all applicants.
The Performers Support Fund of South Australia began over 40 years ago as the Actors Benevolent Trust of South Australia. In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the South Australian Performers Committee began the process of reformatting the Trust into the PSFSA to be able to better respond to the needs of our community.
A more detailed and comprehensive history is currently being researched and will be available here once it is complete.
The Performers Support Fund is currently being managed by a group of volunteers as we move from a Trust to an Incorporated Association.
